McDermott and Liu Take First Place at Bensalem

Bensalem, PA – It was a clear, but windy day here as 79 golfers participated in the Philadelphia Junior Tour event at Bensalem Township Country Club on Saturday, April 6. Due to the recent rainy conditions in the Pennsylvania area, hole 12 was deemed unplayable, so players played the course at a par 66 with only 17 holes.

In the Boys 16-18 Division, Brad McDermott (Wayne, PA) and Michael Liu (Garnet Valley, PA) tied to take home first place with a score of 71 (+5). McDermott had a consistent round with birdies on holes 7 and 17, while Liu played a clean round with three total birdies on the day. In second place with a score of 76 (+10) was Justin Marcus (Glenmoore, PA). Marcus’ lone birdie of the round came on hole 3.

In the Boys 13-15 Division, Jack Luterman (Ardmore, PA) took home first place with a score of 74 (+8). Luterman’s round was filled with many pars and highlighted with a birdie on hole 6. Chase Gillie (Newtown, PA) finished in second place with a score of 76 (+10). Similar to Luterman, Gillie had many pars and capped of his round with a birdie on hole 3. There was a two way tie for third place with scores of 78 (+12). Benjamin Robbins (Holland, PA) and Drake Brogan (Ocean View, NJ) had solid rounds themselves to secure a finish in the top 3.

In the Girls 16-18 Division, Naaz Mehta (Newtown, PA) shot a 78 (+12) to claim first place. Mehta played a consistent round, with a total of 7 pars on the day. In second place was Daria Yohe (Willow Grove, PA) with a 102 (+36).

In the Girls 13-15 Division, Noor Mehta (Newtown, PA) took home first place with a score of 76 (+10). Mehta had 9 total pars on the day throughout her consistent round. Coming in second place with a score of 93 (+27) was Madison Cabot (Newtown, PA). Finishing in third place was Isha Garg (Berlin, MD) with a score of 97 (+31).

In the 12 & Under Division, Adam Revness (Yardley, PA) claimed first place with a 41 (+6). Revness played a clean round with 4 pars on the day. We had a tie for second place with two players finishing with a score of 45 (+10). Both Jack Shea (Harleysville, PA) and Ryan Dungan (Warrington, PA) had solid rounds themselves despite the windy weather conditions.

The Philadelphia Junior Tour would like to thank Kelly Newhouse, Jim Bogan, and the entire Bensalem Township CC staff for hosting a great event. Thank you to all the parents and juniors that participated in today’s event. The next event will take place tomorrow, Sunday, April 7 at Chesapeake Bay Golf Club (Rising Sun, MD).

Andrew Rindgen Rises at Golden Pheasant

Lumberton, NJ – 49 Players experienced a cold day here in Lumberton with some tricky pin locations, but managed to stay composed throughout their round.

In the Boys 16-18 Division, Andrew Rindgen (Havertown, PA) took home first place firing a final score of 75 (+3). Rindgen had a very consistent round with eleven total pars and was highlighted with his birdies on hole nine and ten. In second place, was Enrique Altmann (Mickleton, NJ) with a final score of 78 (+6). Altmann’s solid round was highlighted with nine pars and birdies on holes four and fourteen. Finishing in third place was Brayden Tritsch (Medford, NJ), with a final score of 79 (+7). He also had many pars during his round and birdied holes one and ten.

In the Boys 13-15 Division, Jack Lutermam (Ardmore, PA) took home first place with a final score of 77 (+5). Luterman had a solid round with 10 pars on the day and birdies on holes one and ten. Finishing in second place was Trebor Melendez (Vineland, NJ) who finished with a final score of 78 (+6). Melendez’s round was filled with pars as he finished the day with a total of twelve. Rounding out the leaderboard, finishing in third place was Tyler Whitney (Cherry Hill, NJ) with a final score of 80 (+8). Whitney’s round was highlighted with his back nine finish as he birdied holes fourteen and seventeen to secure third place.

In the Girls 16-18 Division, Xinyuan Li (Pottstown, PA) finished in first place with a final score of 81 (+9) Li had a very consitent round with seven pars and was highlighted with her birdies on holes six and eighteen. Finishing in second place was Naaz Mehta (Newtown, PA) with a final score of 84 (+12). Mehta’s round was highlighted with multiple pars and a birdie on hole eighteeen.

In the Girls 13-15 division, Christina St Pierre (Yardley, PA) finished in first place with a final score of 100 (+28).

In the 12 and under division, Baylor Keim (Blue Bell, PA) took home first place with a final score of 49 (+13). Keim’s solid round was highlighted with a par on hole 6, and was consistent enough to secure the top spot. Coming in second place was David Gilman (Cape May Court House, NJ), who finished with a final score of 50 (+14). Finishing right behind Gilman in third place was Connor Clayton (Mays Landing, NJ), who shot a 51 (+15).

The Philadelphia Junior Tour would like to thank Brian Feldschneider, PGA plus the rest of the Golden Pheasant staff for hosting and accommodating our players. The PJT could not pursue their mission of growing the game within our section without great clubs like Golden Pheasant. The next PJT event will be at Iron Valley Golf Club on Saturday, April 27th.

Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour Seeking Host Facilities for 2024

The Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour is still looking for host facilities for the 2024 season. We have the dates we still need to fill below. If you are interested in hosting please press the “Click to Host” button and it will lead you to our google form.

We host on the weekends during the spring/fall and weekdays during the summer. Aside from our normal Junior Tour events, we hold six major championships as well such as the Boy’s Junior and the Girl’s Junior that act as qualifiers for national PGA events. FUNdamental Tour events and Drive Chip and Putt Qualifiers are also part of our operations.

We are more than willing to work with your course schedule and needs. Below are the range of dates we have for each part of our season. Please feel free to reach out to Joe or Cassie for any further information. Thanks for all you do!
