Angelina Tolentino Wins the 2021 Philadelphia Girls Junior PGA Championship

Dunigan also qualifies, Smith and Maletto claim alternate spots

Horsham, PA (July 12, 2021) – Angelina Tolentino of Mount Laurel, NJ won the 2021 Philadelphia Girls Junior PGA Championship on Monday, July 12 at Commonwealth National Golf Club in Horsham, PA. Weather forced the cancellation of Round 2, turning the 36-hole championship into an 18-hole event.

Tolentino will have the opportunity to join the nation’s top female junior golfers in the PGA of America’s premium junior event, the 45th Girls Junior PGA Championship, hosted at Vahalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Additionally, she also earned a spot in the Philadelphia PGA’s Doylestown Open event, which will take place on August 2nd.

Tolentino, class of 2024, shot a total of 68 (-4)  for the Championship and edged out Mary Grace Dunigan.

Each of the 41 PGA of America Sections has the opportunity to send 2 players to Kentucky. Therefore, along with Angelina Tolentino, Mary Grace Dunigan of Kennett Square, PA will also be competing at Vahalla Golf Club. Dunigan earned her spot through her runner-up finish. In addition, Grace Smith of Wallingford, PA was able to secure her spot at the National event through special exemption.
