Nicholas Ciocca Wins the 2021 Philadelphia Boys Junior PGA Championship

Eichenlaub also qualifies, Barbin and Talerico claim alternate spots

Lower Gwynedd Township, PA (June 14, 2021) – Nicholas Ciocca of Berwyn, PA won the 2021 Philadelphia Boys Junior PGA Championship on Monday, June 14 at Valley Country Club in Sugarloaf, PA. Weather forced the cancellation of Round 2, turning the 36-hole championship into an 18-hole event.

Ciocca will have the opportunity to join 144 of the nation’s top male junior golfers in the PGA of America’s premium junior event, the 45th Boys Junior PGA Championship, hosted at Kearney Hills Golf Links in Lexington, Kentucky. Kearney Hill was designed by famous golf course architects Pete and P.B. Dye, who have designed many other unique and highly-acclaimed courses around the country. Golf Digest Magazine has ranked Kearney Hill as one of the top 10 courses in Kentucky and the course has hosted many esteemed golfing events throughout the years. The 45th Boys Junior PGA Championship will be held from July 12-17, 2021.

Ciocca, 16, shot a total of 67 for the Championship and edged out Evan Eichenlaub.

Each of the 41 PGA of America Sections has the opportunity to send 2 players to Kentucky. Therefore, along with Ciocca, Evan Eichenlaub of Bethlehem, PA will also be competing at Kearney Hill Golf Links. Eichenlaub earned his spot through his runner-up finish.
